Check in at the canopy in the Academic Quad to receive your materials for the weekend’s festivities.

8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Student for a Day
A Homecoming tradition, Student for a Day gives you a snapshot of academic life for today’s Oxy students. A list of open classes will be available at alumni.oxy.edu/hfw17 prior to the weekend, and an updated class list will be posted at Check-In when you arrive on campus.

9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Open House: Undergraduate Research Center Summer Research Poster Projects
Drop by the Academic Commons for a glimpse into some of Oxy’s best student research work, straight from the 2017 Summer Research Conference. Our Summer Research Program has helped to place Oxy at the forefront of liberal arts colleges nationally.

10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Oxy Special Collections Tour: Inside the Moore Lab of Zoology Bird Collection
(Session 1)

The Moore Lab’s 65,000 bird and mammal specimens are a unique research and teaching resource for a liberal arts college. Join the Lab’s staff as they offer a rare insider view of this world-renowned collection.

Campus Tour
Discover why Occidental was named one of America’s 10 “most beautiful” college campuses, and enjoy information that highlights the communal and intellectual campus life of today’s students. Tour led by Office of Admission student tour guide.

1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Spotlight on the Hameetman Career Center (HCC)
Join Cherena Walker P’18, associate vice president and executive director of the Hameetman Career Center, for an overview of the programs the Center provides. The overview will be followed by a panel discussion with students who participated in Oxy’s InternLA summer internship program and alumni who volunteer and support the HCC.

College Senior Leadership Reception
Oxy parents are invited for conversation and refreshments at Collins House. Meet senior Oxy staff, faculty, other families and members of the College community in a relaxed atmosphere.

3:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Fiji Hill Sunset Hike
Enjoy an evening hike to Fiji Hill where, on clear days, the 360-degree view affords vistas of Mt. Washington to the south, the San Gabriel Mountains to the north and east, and a glimpse of the Pacific Ocean to the west. Led by staff from the Office of Student Life.
This is a moderate hike: short distance but steep incline. Comfortable walking shoes recommended.

5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner
We recognize our rich tradition of student-athletes with the induction of the fifth class into the Occidental College Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2017 inductees are Stephen Haas ’63 (track and field), the 1982 women’s tennis team (NCAA national champions), Blair Slattery ’94 (basketball and tennis), and the late Andy Collins ’07 (football, track and field).
Dinner tickets are $90 per person.

5 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Tigers Night Out: Staples Center - L.A. Clippers vs. L.A. Lakers
Home to four of L.A.'s professional sports franchises and host of several high-profile events of national and international distinction, Staples Center has established itself as one of the premier sports and entertainment centers in the world and an essential cultural institution in Los Angeles. It has served as home to both the L.A. Clippers and the L.A. Lakers since 1999 — in fact, the teams' locker rooms are just 70 feet down the hall from each other. Join us for a preseason "Hallway Series" matchup between these rival L.A. teams at a Clippers home game. You'll even have the chance to high-five Blake Griffin, Deandre Jordan and the rest of the Clippers when they take the court for pre-game introductions!

Tigers Night Out: Disney Concert Hall - Dudamel Conducts CDMX: NOCHE DE CINE
From its striking outside to its intimate interior, Walt Disney Concert Hall is an architectural marvel that never loses sight of its main function—bringing world-class music to the city of Los Angeles. Join us as the LA Philharmonic celebrates Mexican and Latin American cinema with an evening of scores and songs from beloved films both classic and modern, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. Now entering his ninth season as music and artistic director of the LA Phil, Dudamel is one of the most decorated conductors of his generation. He was names one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in 2009, has been featured three times on CBS's "60 Minutes" and was subject of the PBS special "Dudamel: Conducting a Life."

Parents Council Breakfast featuring the Center for the Digital Arts
Please join the Oxy Parents Council for breakfast and a conversation about the Center for Digital Liberal Arts (CDLA), one of the many quintessential Oxy programs that benefits from parent engagement and philanthropy to the College. Jacob Alden Sargent, Ph.D. and Christopher Gilman, Ph.D. will discuss how the CDLA is equipping Oxy students with the critical literacies and technical skills they need to realize the enduring value of a liberal arts education in a rapidly changing world.

Title IX Information Session
Oxy’s Title IX office will provide a brief overview of how the College addresses sexual misconduct and other forms of sex discrimination on campus, as well as how the College plans to address possible changes to federal guidance.

10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Occidental Children’s Theater Performance
Join this critically acclaimed troupe as it celebrates its 22nd year with Dracula and the Beanstalk and three adventurous adaptations of traditional stories.

Behind the Orange Curtain: An Inside View of the Oxy Admission Process
Join members of the Admission staff to learn about the College’s application review process. Learn specifically about Oxy’s effort to build a class filled with the academically talented, diverse, value-driven students that sets Oxy apart from our peer colleges.

10:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Green Oxy Tour
Join a fun, informative tour highlighting Oxy's green efforts. The  tour route will include the FEAST and pollinator gardens, 1-megawatt solar array, Bike Share, saplings, the Earth Week photo contest exhibit, the Green Bean and other exciting sustainability initiatives.

11 a.m.

Women’s Club Boutique
From homegrown plants to hand-knit scarves, this boutique has something for everyone. Proceeds benefit the Occidental Women’s Club Endowed Scholarship.

Lunchtime
There are great no-host options for lunch on Saturday. Dine on-campus at the Marketplace or choose from a selection of food trucks. Or, visit one of the local restaurants offering Oxy Homecoming discounts for an off-campus meal.
Pay on site. Marketplace is cash only.

Football vs. University of La Verne
Cash-only tickets available for purchase at the Jack Kemp Stadium box office starting at noon: $10 adults and Oxy alumni; $5 College and high school students (with ID); $5 children ages 6-12 (with parent); children 5 and under and Oxy staff and students (with ID) are free.

3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Oswald’s Homecoming Party
Join us for a festive Homecoming celebration, complete with tasty fare and fun fall activities for all ages.
Adults (ages 10 and older):
• Food and Pub Entry (for those 21+ only, government ID required) - $22
• Food Only - $15
• Tiger Pub Lounge Only (for those 21+ only, government ID required) - $7

Glee Club Annual Homecoming Concert
Enjoy the Oxy Glee Club’s traditional Homecoming concert. Alumni are invited onstage to sing the traditional “Football Medley” and “Occidental Fair” at the end of the concert! Tickets are $15 and are sold the day of the concert at the Thorne Hall box office.

6:30 p.m.
GOLD Happy Hour
Graduates of the Last Decade and seniors (21+) are invited to one of York Boulevard's great bars for a Homecoming cocktail hour. Register for Oswald's Homecoming Party and get a free Happy Hour drink ticket.
