Oxy's first Fifty Year Club Day was held in January 1954. Each year since, the Fifty Year Club have gathered on campus each spring to visit, honor fellow members, reacquaint themselves with Oxy and welcome members of the 50th Reunion into membership. During their annual gathering, the Fifty Year Club bestows the Auld Lang Syne Award upon one or more of their colleagues for unswerving loyalty to Occidental and the principles for which it stands. Since 1996, the Club has presented their Io Triumphe Award to honor current faculty who have made extraordinary contributions to the spirit of community and thereby brought honor to the College. Additionally, an annual Fifty Year Club Scholarship honors the scholastic efforts of current students. In recent years, the Fifty Year Club have hosted events in Los Angeles and across the country, exclusive to members of the Club. Find out more.
